Increase in high velocity accidents has resulted in increase in the incidence of facial fractures. We treat and repair facial injury and fractures of the entire facial region which may involve the maxilla, mandible, zygoma, orbit, nasal bone, frontal sinus and facial lacerations.
During treatment of facial fractures apart from cosmetic correction we pay special attention to the functional component i.e. bite or occlusion. The knowledge of how jaws come together (dental occlusion) is critical when repairing complex facial fractures. The fractured bone is brought back to its original position and is held together with plates and screws. While giving incisions we take care so that you have a negligible scar on your face. Hence most of the incisions are given inside the mouth where they remain hidden.
